This hybrid is a cross between a black and red raspberry， producing large fruit with excellent flavor. The tart flavor makes it good for fresh eating and unsurpassed for jams， jellies， and preserves. Winter hardy， this raspberry is a fast grower. 

Planting Instructions: 

May be planted in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to encompass the roots without bending or circling. Set the plant in place so the crown (part of the plant where the roots meet the stem) is about 1-2" below the soil surface. Cover with soil to the original soil surface and water thoroughly. Fertilize newly set plants 2-3 weeks after planting and again in early summer. Water well during growth， and consider mulching to conserve water until the following spring， when the mulch should be removed to let the plants warm up. In winter， cut back to about 5 canes per crown. Cane berries prefer a deep， well-drained， fertile soil and typically bear fruit on 2-year old wood with ever bearers producing on first-year wood. Thrive in most soil types. Versatile and hardy in the coldest climates where other cane fruits fail. Plant late winter to early spring. Space 2'-3' in a row with 8'-10' between rows. It is best to plant immediately upon receipt. If you are unable to plant immediately， refrigerate and plant as soon as possible. Do not add water. Keep in original packing to retain proper moisture， until you can plant.

1. Plant canes 2 feet apart creating hedgerows that are 10 feet apart. Dig a hole two times the width of the root ball in good loose garden soil with a pH of 5.8 to 6.5 amending if necessary.
2. Remove plant from packaging and lightly loosen the bottom of the root ball to release the roots as you set it in place in the hole.
3. Keep the top of the root ball even with soil surface and fill in around the roots. Lightly tamp dirt around your newly planted raspberries.
4. Water well and add additional soil if necessary and water again.
5. Keep weed-free， watered when necessary and pruned regularly to maintain a quality crop. Fertilizer may be applies in early spring before sprouting and again in late May.

HARVEST TIME: Early summer and fall
HABIT: Raspberry canes produce high yields of large fruit with good color， firmness & flavor.

USAGE: Fresh eating， jams and jellies， freezes well， juices， desserts and baking.

PLANTING TIPS: For a summer and fall crop; prune back tall weak canes early in the spring. After the first harvest remove the canes that produced fruit for a second crop in the fall.
